Santiago Ayala has more than 10 years of experience in the digital data forensic, incident response, and cyber security fields. He has performed more than 1,000 digital forensic investigations since 2004, including high-profile civil and criminal cases. During the last 10 years, Santiago has been a key member of incident response teams responding to cyber-attacks against Fortune 500 companies, U.S. government agencies, and payment card industry institutions.

Awards and Credentials

Santiago received the 2014 Digital Forensic Examiner of the Year Award, presented by Forensic:4Cast, and he is a current holder of a SANS Forensicator Coin. He is an Encase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Certified X-Ways professional in evidence recovery techniques (X-pert), and a Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP). Additionally, Santiago is a licensed private investigator in the State of Texas and in the State of Florida.
